Dark Circles is a essentially a solo studio project that came about after I started to get into music technology. I play all the instruments, write record, mix and produce all the music myself. It has a broad spectrum of influences on it including european jazz, contempoary classical music, world music, soundtracks, ambient, aswell as the jazz and funk influence that you might expect.

Bampoot is my most recent project. The band was formed in January 2008 to play new original music, as well as some of the tunes written for the "Dark Circles" project. It's a quartet made up of some great Manchester based players - Dan Mitchell on bass, Justin Shearn on keys, and Finlay Panter on drums. Although these are the projects I’m most involved with from day to day, I do allsorts of other work from Latin jazz to big band, experimental improvisation to studio session work. Work on one off projects and act as a dep in various bands all over the country. some of these can be heard in the AUDIO section of the website. I also undertake various teaching posts in woodwind tuition and jazz education.

Zoot Serious and the Bellyful of Bop is an 11 piece rhythm and blues band based in the North West . It has performed all over the country at various jazz and blues festivals and makes regular appearances at Alexander’s Jazz Theatre in Chester . The band consists of an exciting 6 piece horn section which makes for a really big live sound. Playing everything from Brian Setzer to Louis Jordan, a good time is always had by all. We have recently recorded an album which is currently in post production, so look out for more info in the “news and reviews”!

Mamma Freedom are an exciting 7 piece funky, rocky, hip hoppy band from Manchester. We write, record and produce all our own songs and currently have our first single out now, available through Itunes.
